Instruction for expert witness medico-legal assessments and treatment of children and young people regarding personal injury (traumatic brain injury and acquired neurological disorders) and medical negligence are accepted. The client and parent/s will be seen for a neuropsychological assessment in Leeds based private consulting rooms. Detailed clinical interview and administration of a battery of neuropsychological (i.e. cognitive and academic attainments) tests are performed. This will also include a psychological assessment. When instructed to provide a neuropsychological report, comment on the severity of the traumatic brain injury sustained; the presence and severity of any cognitive sequelae; the presence and severity of any psychological injuries; any related disability; the relevance of pre-accident history; prognosis and treatment/rehabilitation recommendations will be provided. Issues set out in any letter of instruction are noted. Once Dr Morrall has examined a medico-legal patient, there is typically a 4-6 week period to collate the neurocognitive test data, review the records and produce a detailed report.
Dr Morrall does not accept instructions on a case-end payment basis. Given that neuropsychological and psychological examinations are detailed and time consuming, payment terms are a maximum of 30 days from receipt of the report.
